Luis Felipe practices in the greater Washington D.C. area (specifically D.C. and Virginia) as a bilingual therapist in private practice. Luis Felipe strives to create a society where LGBTQ+ people and communities of color feel safe, secure, and culturally affirmed. Luis Felipe’s goal is to create a healing and trauma-informed space where you no longer have to explain your lived experiences in a language you feel comfortable with.

Born out of the desire for more diverse representation and spaces that focus on the mental health, sex therapy, and overall wellness of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer plus (LGBTQ+) communities Luis Felipe strives to create a holistic and empowering practice that reflects the communities being served.

Luis Felipe specialized in individual, couple, and identity-based counseling and believes in and values non-traditional healing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centered Trauma-Informed care.

Individual Therapy

Therapy is a supportive, empowering, and collaborative relationship between the therapist and the people in therapy working together to achieve a person’s identified goals. While therapy may not be for everyone, having a safe space (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) where people can unpack their trauma, talk about their thoughts and feelings, and learn new skills and perspectives can be very helpful and impactful. My goal is to support people as to inspire change, improve their quality of life, and help them obtain a life worth living. While some may find the experience difficult, many find enjoyment through the therapeutic relationship and can become more self-aware, compassionate, and increase the overall mental health and self-esteem.People seek therapy for a number of different reasons, including:

Having a mutual safe space to discuss and improve on these issues can help rebuild the relationship and reconnect the couple to one another. Family Therapy

Families and family units carry with them unique challenges when it comes to mental health and relationships. Overcoming these challenges is the goal of family therapy. By improving the connections and relationships among the family members and working within the family, families can learn to better communicate with each other and accomplish shared goals
